When we set out in 1989, bus and coach (automatic) transmissions had only just evolved from the hugely popular Leyland transmissions to ZF Ecomat, Voith DIWA and Allison fully automatic versions. Following that same logical path, Bluestripe now remanufactures many of these transmissions, leaving behind (although not completely) their aging predecessor.
Through continual investment we have created a business that not only focuses heavily on quality and customer satisfaction, but more than that, a business of integrity where many long term relationships have been achieved through honesty and openness.

The company is owned and managed by myself. I have over 40 years experience in repairing, rebuilding and installing automatic transmissions, starting from humble beginnings serving a traditional apprenticeship at Midland Red Bus Company’s Central Engineering Workshops, in Birmingham.
Bluestripe is a proud business, established over 27 years during which BS5750 and then ISO9002 quality standards were achieved, before winning major contracts with London Bus and Arriva Group. A major transition in 2001 resulted in many changes, suffice to say that we are now much more successful, trading not only nationwide but in Europe and beyond.
